um, hello...

So... hello.

So I'm launching this blog a few days ahead of schedule. Learning the in's and out's of cooking was supposed to be a New Year's resolution, but as it turns out, I have the house to myself this week, and I'm all out of microwave dinners.

I've wanted to learn to cook well for some time now, but I'm always busy with my tech support job as well as classes and World of Warcraft and stuff. I'm also incredibly lazy. Also, most of my cooking attempts end in epic disaster. I've been known to fubar ordering pizza...

Anyways, I figured that the only way I could really learn cooking is to bring it down to the geek-level (and yes, I am channeling Alton Brown/Good Eats. That show is EPIC). Thus the title of this blog; Cooking with C3H8! It's a chemistry joke... C3H8... Propane... Cooking With Gas... No? Ok. I'll probably have to Google a lot of this as well...

So tonight, my brother and I made a Walmart run and bought groceries to last a week or so. The first thing I've decided to attempt to cook is a Southern/Redneck classic... Drunk Chicken! I'm going to get started on a rub for the chicken tomorrow after work, and get to cooking. With any luck I'll end up with food and not a visit from the fire department. Again.
